Paul Ryan: A Republican to Watch
TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Grab audio sound bite number 13, Mike. We don't have Paul Ryan from Greta last night. We do have him yesterday afternoon, Wall Street Journal, Conversations With, he talked to Paul Gigot. And this is a small sound bite, but Ryan, pay attention to him, brilliant guy. Budget matters, brilliant guy. Gigot said, "Some Democrats criticize you for backtracking on the promise, campaign promise, hundred billion-dollar deficit reduction, can you respond to that charge you're already backtracking, is that true?"
RYAN: If people think we're afraid of cutting a hundred billion dollars they got another thing coming. This is just the beginning. Wait 'til we do our budget resolution; wait 'til we do our fiscal year 2012 spending bills, we're gonna keep going.
RUSH: That's the Paul Ryan that I know. I met Paul Ryan. Paul Ryan was an intern at Empower America when Jack Kemp and Bill Bennett ran that shop in Washington. I flew up there one weekend to meet Bennett for a weekend of revelry and they took me by the office, and Paul Ryan was in there as an intern. He remembered meeting me, he told me that was the first place that we met, and so there he was, interned for Kemp and Bennett, Empower America, Forbes and all that, bammo. And here he is now running the budget for the US Republicans in the Congress, saying, "A hundred billion? Hell. That's just the beginning."

Rush Limbaugh: America has become 'Obamaville'
© 2010 WorldNetDaily
At the height of the Great Depression in the 1930s, many Americans fighting for survival ended up living in crudely built shantytowns known as "Hoovervilles," in humiliating honor of President Herbert Hoover, who many blamed for the economic distress.
Sacramento, Calif., was home to one of America's "Hoovervilles" in the mid 1930s during the Great Depression
Now in 2010, radio giant Rush Limbaugh is declaring the United States has become one giant "Obamaville," thanks directly to the policies of President Barack Obama.
"The whole country is Obamaville," Limbaugh said on his program today. "Obama is Herbert Hoover. You know they used to call those unemployment camps Hoovervilles. Well, now we're going to see Obamavilles springing up all across the nation."
"Hoover was trying to fix things. Obama's not. The only difference is Obama is doing this on purpose. Hoover wasn't."
Limbaugh took direct aim at the president's comments yesterday when Obama insisted, "The economy is strengthening, we are into recovery."
"It's the summer of recovery. How's that working out for you?" Limbaugh asked facetiously. "Thirteen thousand, 13,000 private-sector jobs added in June. If you divide 13,000 by 50, just for illustration purposes, you get 260 jobs created in the private sector per state. Two hundred sixty jobs per state. This is Herbert Hoover-type stuff."
Obama made his statement shortly after new figures indicated consumer confidence tumbled in June, sending stock markets worldwide plummeting.
"We have gone from losing 750,000 jobs per month to five months of job growth now – private-sector job growth that is obviously so important to consumer confidence and the well-being of the economy overall," Obama said.
"According to Obama, this is progress, because we're not losing 700,000 jobs a month," Limbaugh noted. "Now, consider how stupid that is. We were never going to lose 700,000 jobs per month for years and years, because we don't have enough people working age to lose 700,000 jobs every month for years and years."
The conservative host reminded listeners about "massive tax increases hitting next January."
"People are still not sure how much it's going to cost them, particularly businesses. That's why there's no hiring," Limbaugh explained. "I took heat, and in some sectors, ladies and gentlemen, I'm still taking heat for saying I wanted Obama to fail. But I wanted him to fail because I want the nation to succeed. We now see that Obama succeeding does not equal the nation succeeding, and that is a major, major thing for people to have to come to grips with."
As the U.S. heads toward a weekend celebrating its 234th anniversary since its official founding in 1776, Limbaugh lamented the political party currently in charge was "happily, apparently" presiding over the nation's decline, "which in fact may be one of the purposes."
"The 'can't dos' from our elected and appointed officials, both at the federal and state level, are piling up," he said. "Consider the following:
"'I can't suck the oil up with a straw,' said President Obama when asked what he was doing about the BP spill that began April 20. Nor could he approve the building of sand berms, or the suspension of the Jones Act, which would have let foreign skimmers into U.S. waters to help with the oil cleanup.
"'You're never going to totally seal that border,' said Janet Napolitano, making excuses for why Homeland Security has essentially ceded entire parts of Arizona to violent Mexican smuggling rings while still seeking 'comprehensive immigration reform,'" and suing the state of Arizona and joining boycotts, the federal government. That's really confidence inspiring.
"'I think the world understands now that growth in the future around the world cannot depend as much on the United States as it did in the past,' opined Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner in a defeatist interview with the BBC before the G-20 summit.
"'There's no possibility to restore 8 million jobs lost in the Great Recession' was how Vice President Joe Biden put it at a fundraiser for Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold. But wasn't that the reason for the $862 billion stimulus package, the $700 billion in bailouts and the takeover of the auto industry and Wall Street? Wasn't it to get back the eight million jobs that were lost?
"And now this inspiring regime says, 'Ah, sorry, can't happen, can't close the border, not gonna lead the world, not sure we want to win in Afghanistan, screw the oil leak, and not going to get those 8 million jobs back.'"
Limbaugh concluded, "This is the can't-do administration. This is the won't-do administration. This is unparalleled. Never in my lifetime has there been an administration that is so filled daily with depression, negativism, can't-doism. There is nothing that is reflective of American exceptionalism, of the great American spirit represented anywhere in this regime. It's all malaise."
As WND reported in December, residents of Colorado Springs, Colo., saw a sign reading "Welcome to Obamaville" on the site of a homeless tent camp in the city.
The sign, which was visible from the Cimarron Street ramp to Interstate 25, clearly conveyed a political jab at rising unemployment under Obama, as it read in full, "Welcome to Obamaville – Colorado's fastest growing community."
Public reaction on a local TV station's website was mixed over the sign's message:
"Lay the blame where you will, I think it is a hoot and a great historical throwback to Hooverville," wrote a reader named daman in an online comment. "These are the worst times I've seen in my 40-plus years, and I am glad my kids get to see it early. Maybe they'll learn to grow and be compassionate, yet personally fiscal conservatives."
A poster named Nick, however, was critical: "That is pretty low to use a right-wing political agenda and attack the homeless during the worst recession in a generation and especially during the holiday.

Glenn Beck's fear of Obama: Seize power overnight
Rush Limbaugh: 'Most dangerous time in my life for freedom and liberty in this country'
By Joe Kovacs
© 2009 WorldNetDaily
Will President Obama "seize power overnight" in a move to consolidate White House control of the U.S. government?
That's the fear of Fox News anchor Glenn Beck who discussed the issue at length today with another broadcasting powerhouse, radio's Rush Limbaugh.
"I fear this government, this administration has so much framework already prepared, that they will seize power overnight before anybody even gives it a second thought," Beck said.
His comment came as he was analyzing the changing nature of the media since Obama's election, citing the administration's close ties with the NBC network, owned by corporate giant General Electric:
If you watch what could only be called the administration's organ – anything involved with GE or NBC – you've got [GE CEO] Jeffrey Immelt on the board of the Federal Reserve, you have him in the Oval Office consulting not only on health care, but the financial situation, and they are an organ.
If you watch MSNBC, I contend that you will see the future because they are laying the ground for a horrible event ... anything from the right, there's some awful event and I fear this government, this administration has so much framework already prepared, that they will seize power overnight before anybody even gives it a second thought.
Limbaugh responded, "I don't think they're going to be able to seize it overnight without anybody knowing about it."
Get the book that exposes the secret blueprint for ending free speech: "Shut up, America!"
The pair analyzed Obama's appointment of Mark Lloyd, the nation's first "chief diversity officer" at the Federal Communications Commission, and both agreed he is looking to severely limit free speech in America through a series of new initiatives without ever having to revive the "Fairness Doctrine" that was abandoned in 1985.
WND recently reported that Lloyd believes the policy was never actually repealed, and he is said to advocate crippling $250 million fines for radio stations whose programming does not meet with the government's approval.
He's also reportedly pushing for private broadcasters to pay licensing fees equal to their total operating costs. That money would then be used to enhance funding of government-subsidized networks such as National Public Radio.
"Citizen access to popular information has been undermined by bad political decisions," Lloyd wrote in his 2006 book, "Prologue to a Farce: Communications and Democracy in America." "Corporate liberty has overwhelmed citizen equality."
"What they're trying to do here to communications is simply stifle dissenting voices. They're trying to wipe out any opposition," Limbaugh explained. "The things he's talking about doing to shut down radio are simply un-American. ... It is a dangerous time. It's the most dangerous time in my life for freedom and liberty in this country."
Limbaugh maintained every action thus far by Obama has been designed to intentionally hurt, rather than help the nation.
"Look at what they're doing to the U.S. economy," he said. "Anybody with a sense of economic literacy would know this is not how you create jobs. You do not rebuild the private sector. This is being done on purpose. All of these disasters are exactly what Obama wants. The more crises, the better. The more opportunity for government to say, 'Let us in and fix the problem.'"
Limbaugh has been maligned by some in the media for previous comments that he would like Obama to fail in implementing his policies, and he said today he was "uncomfortable thinking and saying these things about a man who's been elected president of the United States."
It is terribly upsetting and disconcerting, and I wish I didn't think it and I wish I didn't have to say it. But there's no way to sugarcoat it. This is not politics as usual. This is not left versus right. This is not Republican versus Democrat. This is statism, totalitarianism versus freedom. And if these people are allowed to go where they want to go unchecked, then some people, a lot of people – I don't think half the country, but close – will wake up one day and find, "My God, what the hell happened?" Because this is not what they voted for. They had no intention of this. They thought they were getting something entirely different and it is a responsibility that we all have being honest and earnest to inform people of what these possibilities are because they are very real.
Beck, who has a national radio show of his own as well as his television broadcast on the Fox News Channel, wondered about a perceived lack of coverage on the issues they were discussing.
"Where is the true outrage from anyone in the media?" asked Beck. "Why are these things not grabbing traction at this point?"
"I think the whole concept of reporting has gone out the window," Limbaugh answered. "I call them the State-Controlled Media because it's what they are. They're just repeaters. They take dictation from [Obama Chief of Staff] Rahm Emanuel for the most part, and they simply run with it. It's who they are, too."
Despite the potential for doom and gloom, Limbaugh assured Beck that there was a ray of hope that Obama's goals could be defeated.
"Passion, love of country, truth is going to outmaneuver and overpower fake passion, trumped-up people who are just given marching orders and sent out to act in a certain way," Limbaugh said.
"I'm confident that this can be beaten back. If I weren't, you know what, Glenn? I'd pack it all in and I'd spend my money before they take it and I'd go enjoy the rest of what my life is gonna be, but I –
"That's quite a shopping spree," Beck interrupted with a laugh. "Can I come with you?"
"There's plenty of room," said Rush.

Limbaugh: 'Obama has yet to prove he's a citizen'
BORN IN THE USA?
Radio giant blasts president's refusal to show long-form birth certificate
By Chelsea Schilling
Top-rated radio host Rush Limbaugh, upset that he's forced to report his every movement to tax authorities, blasted President Obama for failing to prove he is natural-born citizen of the United States.
On his show today, Limbaugh told listeners, "As you know, I'm in the midst of another harassing audit from New York State and New York City for the last three years. We're up to 16 different ways I have to prove to New York City and state tax authorities where I have been every day – not just work week – but every day, for the past three years."
He continued, "Barack Obama has yet to have to prove that he's a citizen. All he has to do is show a birth certificate. He has yet to have to prove he's a citizen. I have to show them 14 different ways where the h--- I am every day of the year for three years."
Later in the show, Limbaugh showed a video of a woman criticizing Rep. Mike Castle for ignoring the birth certificate issue during a Delaware town meeting. She presented her own birth certificate, signed by a doctor, and asked why Obama hasn't been compelled to do the same.
Woman: I want to go back to Jan. 20, and I want to know, why are you people ignoring his birth certificate? (cheers and applause) He is not an American citizen. He is a citizen of Kenya. I am American. My father worked – fought in World War II with the greatest generation in the Pacific theater for this country, and I don't want this flag to change. I want my country back! (cheers and applause)
Castle: If you're referring to the president there, he is a citizen of the United States. (crowd shouting)
Woman: All the men and women who died for this country in 1776 'til the present time. I think we should all stand up and give Pledge of Allegiance to that wonderful flag (cheers and applause) people that sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Everybody stand up.
Everyone in the room stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
"The crowd went nuts," Limbaugh noted. "There's all kinds of stuff bubbling up out there."

Rush Limbaugh pummels Obama on birth certificate
BORN IN THE USA?
Radio giant clowns about president's similarities, differences with God

Rush Limbaugh |
Nationwide attention about President Obama's lack of producing a long-form birth certificate proving his eligibility for office got a boost today when top-rated radio host Rush Limbaugh joked about the subject in comparing Obama to God.
Asking rhetorically what God has in common with Obama, Limbaugh said, "Neither has a birth certificate."
"How do they differ?" Limbaugh continued. "God does not think he's Obama. And there's another difference. Liberals love Obama."
Limbaugh repeated the punch lines several times throughout his show and noted, "another difference is that Obama gets better press. ... Another difference is that God only demands to be worshipped once a week."
Later, he sprinkled in other differences, including:
- God asks for only 10 percent of your money
- God gives you freedom to live your life as you choose
- God's plan to save us is actually written down for you to read
The host responded, "I am better than most people but I don't think I'm God. Obama does. He's got a messianic complex."
Limbaugh commented that left-leaning listeners "can't stand any comedy about Obama."
The comparison to God comes after recent comments by Newsweek editor Evan Thomas, who said on MSNBC's "Hardball" that Obama was "sort of God."
With the exception of extensive coverage by WND, the subject of Obama's eligibility for office based on his birth record has received little, if any, attention from large media outlets.
